Carnival Has No Plans to Return to Costa Maya until 2009

According to Forbes.com Carnival Cruise Lines plans on skipping Costa Maya, also known as Majahual, through 2008 because of damage done by hurricane Dean. Royal Caribbean will be skipping the port until at least April of 2008 according to the article. Capable of handling up to three ships at a time, this will displace quite a few cruises over the the next year.

This should be of concern for anyone who has booked a cruise and planed any tours/excursions that they booked themselves. Keep in mind that itineraries can change again, so I would keep an eye on ports of call if booked especially if the booking is six months or more out.
