Bundled Perks A Thing Of The Past On Airlines

U.S. Airlines has joined the party in charging for the second checked bag. Don't think this is a short term thing. Airlines are slowly moving to "unbundle" things that have been taken for granted until now. In the near future I see all airlines becoming low cost airlines. Frequent flyer programs are going to the way to get perks. I would not be surprised if in the future it will cost for every bag you take on board whether its checked or carried on. The future is here.

The Orbitz Lowest Price Deal Explained

Most of us have seen the commercials. Book your hotel with Orbitz and if the someone else books at a lower price, they will refund you the difference. You don't have to do anything yourself. Cool right. The thing that the commercial does not mention is that you have to only book the hotel with them. Package deals that include flight and or car rental don't count. So if the hotel portion goes down there will be no refund coming. This works well for the company because most people are getting package deals. We booked a package deal for an upcoming vacation months ago with friends. The price has gone down. Our friends who kept an eye on the prices contacted Orbitz. The answer they got was "Package deals would be to difficult to keep track of which part actually decreased." Carnival's New Rewards - My take

 First I need to say that I understand and agree that with how many Platinum level cruisers are on board, that some perks have been lost recently, but not to the point I would complain. That being said, the new system seems expensive to maintain (from the cruisers side) if I understand it correctly.  A VERY basic breakdown on the new Rewards Program Platinum status from reading through everything. I chose platinum because my wife and I have been this status since the inception of the VFIP in 2012. First: It's very like airline points and Carnival admits that. The big difference is it's 2 years of acrural and a minimum of 2 years (more time if you meet level early) to use the perks of that level. I am fine with this breakdown and length altho with my occupation, 3 years would be more preferable  Second: Perks change slightly and I'm fine with this too. 2 free drinks instead of a party is going to upset some people, but I'm okay.  Now my confusion and not so happy part...

Keeping all my travel plans together

When it comes to going on vacation or even a business trip one of the hardest things for me is keeping all my confirmation numbers, contact info, and other paperwork together and at the ready.  Most people just print out all their email confirmations and have to shuffle thru them when the time comes to find the right one.  It can be a pain when trying to find the email from the rental car company and having to flip thru all the airline, hotel and whatever other emails to find it as the last piece of paper in the pile or worse not finding it.  Some people have gotten more organized.  They create one sheet with all the info they need either by hand writing out all the info or typing it up neatly in some program and printing it out which alleviates a lot of stress in the long run.  However, now there are companies that try to do all the work for you, and whats better yet is they are free, or at least have free options.  The one that I started using, works as...
